About Me

The early years of this lifetime were spent in darkness: I blindly followed others without purpose or understanding. Then, in my early 20s, something happened that changed everything. I was forced to examine my existence and to justify my beliefs. For several days I pondered gaining only new questions. But, on the seventh day of contemplation, in an instant, it all started to make sense. In time I gained an understanding of life I had never imagined possible, and, as it grew, it became clear that my purpose was to share it. A true philosopher knows that very little, if anything, can be considered certain or true beyond dispute. Fortunately, I neither consider myself to be, nor aspire to be a true philosopher, and believe that most questions do have definitive answers, whether or not the truth in question is obtainable or accepted by others. The truth remains in spite of our beliefs. It can be both frightening and painful, yet must inevitably be confronted. To deny it is to rob ourselves of purpose, and imprison ourselves in darkness............

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Between the ages of 12 and 21 I played the drums. After developing basic skills, I started to play along with music. I began with the easy stuff like Boston, Black Sabbath, etc. When I was ready for something a little more challenging, I turned to Rush. Trying to keep up with one of the worlds foremost percussionists was no easy task. But, I did the best I could with what I had. And, after a few years, I wasn't to shabby. Then, due to a prolonged back injury I had to give it up. Life goes .. my awakening, I had only heard the music, I later came to realize that Neil Peart wasn't just an inspiring drummer, he held a candle in the darkness that led me to the greatest journey of my life, a journey within. In 1989, after coming to my initial mass of realizations, I sent a letter to Poly Gram in hopes that, by some miracle, the contents would be forwarded to one of the members of Rush. The paper was titled "Someone Had To Figure It Out Sooner Or Later". Months after, "Presto" was released. Parts of the album, particularly "The Pass", described the exact circumatances of my life at that time. I found it to be more than coincidental. Since then, I've felt a mysteries connection with the band, Particularly Neil Peart. If I never meet him in person, it would come as no great surprise. But I would like to thank him for the work he's done, and to humbly request a straight answere from the man who's opinion I value so highly. Did I influence your writing??? One word will suffice. 17 years is a long time to leave a man guessing. But, I suppose, I could wait 17 more.............................PS. If yes, why didn't you send me a T-shirt?
