Carlos Guitarlos

Following a successful run through the L.A. music scene in the 80's, which was highlighted by recording gigs with Tom Waits and The Breeders, an invite to appear on The David Letterman Show, and a stint as lead guitarist/songwriter for the notoriously raucous Top Jimmy and the Rhythm Pigs (immortalized in the Van Halen song of the same name), Carlos endured a lengthy absence from the music scene. Throughout the 90's and into the new millennium, Carlos could be found paying his dues on the streets of San Francisco, where he has become a street-corner legend, playing guitar to earn his keep. As a result of his hard living, Carlos landed in a San Francisco hospital fighting for his life with congestive heart failure, hence, Straight from the Heart (the title track was written from his hospital bed). That experience, combined with the alcohol-related death of his friend and former band-mate, Top Jimmy, proved to be the catalyst of his recent personal turnaround and career resurgence.Straight from the Heart will vault Carlos from a two-town legend to national treasure status; No longer will Carlos.. genius be shared only with those who happen to pass him by at the corner of 16th and Mission.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
