About Me

..Becki McLeod .. BIOGRAPHYWhen it comes to singing, Becki McLeod is proof that size doesn't matter. Out of her small frame comes a powerful voice able to challenge the biggest country stars of today. Strengthened by the hardships of life, sweetened by love and brazened with an unstoppable determination, Becki's vocal stylings are very much her own, but have also been shaped by influences such as Reba, Wynonna, Bonnie Raitt and Stevie Nicks. Her music can be called heart and soul mixed with country and rock and roll. "It's music that comes from deep within, at a beat that lets you know you're alive, with lyrics you can understand and relate to", Becki explains. Although new to Nashville's music scene, Becki is a seasoned performer, who has been onstage since she was 4 years old "My typical set would include old and new songs .. everything from Motown classics to Guns and Roses to Gretchen Wilson," Becki says. "But I certainly work to the crowd and adapt my song selection to keep them on their feet and singing along for hours!" Becki was first recognized as a star in her small town of Sumter, South Carolina. Her inaugural performance was on her first birthday where she sang ..Happy Birthday.. to herself, and the crowd certainly enjoyed the show. Becki has been singing ever since, and her song list and stage presence have certainly developed. ..Singing has always been a part of who I am .. a part of my soul,.. Becki says. Growing up, she honed her skills through school choir, dancing, theater and performing solos at her church. Soon Becki was singing at local events and even winning the states Star Search contest in 1999. A vocal performance and music education major in college, Becki continued follow her love of singing and performing, garnering recognition as the State of South Carolina top female vocalist at a collegiate level. It wasn't long before a local act picked her up, and Becki began touring throughout the region with Carolina Blonde. With Becki on lead vocals, they wowed audiences at festivals and special events, and soon were entertaining thousands at the Harley Davidson Bike Rally in Myrtle Beach. Trained as a classical singer in college, Becki has performed on stage with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the Florence Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philarmonic Orchestra. She was the featured act at Don't Tell Mama's Piano Bar in New York City. Becki then took off on her own, winning the Chattanooga Idol and becoming the 3rd Round Pick on American Idol. She has been showcased at Smiley Hollow and Leapers Fork, named Best in Show by Airplay International at the Eleventh Annual King Eagle Music Awards, and awarded First Place at Broadway Louis Talent Search, which earned her a two song recording contract with Foxfire Records in 2003. Becki went on to share her love of music with students, using her vocal gifts and spreading her passion through teaching. "Although I love teaching, my heart is really in performing and recording, and I'm eager to show Nashville what I have to offer," Becki says. Becki has returned to the stage, bringing her powerful voice and crowd-pleasing performances to Nashville. Come check out a show on Tuesdays at Second Fiddle On Broadway. She is currently available for bookings.
