My father is Panamanian and my mother is Cuban. They met in college (Georgetown), were my sister attended college, and did their masters together in Louisiana, were I went to college. Once they finished, they got married in New York, and came to Panama.I was born in Panama, on May 11 1980. 2 of my best friends, Hector and Cristie, were also born on that same day. We call ourselves the 5/11/80's and I believe that inside our hearts something truly unites us.I feel that I am really lucky!! My "sister" yoya always says that there is nothing like choosing your own family. I was blessed with a wonderful family that not only consists of my parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, sister, brother in law, and cousins, but the coolest group of friends you could ever imagine, without whom I know my life would not be the same!! To top it off, my nephew Felipe is the most beautiful baby on earth.I also love my country, Panama. I used to believe that I would marry a foreigner and wanted to get the hell out of here, jaja! I know it sounds crazy but Panama is really small and sometimes you tend to feel a little suffocated. The truth is that returning to Panama after my college years and masters has made me realize how much I missed it and all of the things it has to offer.
