About Me

I was born in a small town called Pascagoula, Ms. When I turned 17 I quit school and enlisted in the U.S.Navy. After Navy boot camp I was assigned to the Pacific Reserve Fleet in San Francisco, California after 4 months I was assigned to the USS Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31) in San Diego, California for 3 years. I made two Western Pacific deployments and 1st round the world cruise on this ship. I was then assigned to Cincusnaveur, London England for 3 years. My next assignment was to the USS Stickell (DD-888) in Newport Rhode Island after one year I was sent to another ship in the same destroyer squadron the USS Massey (DD-778) I made the 2nd round the world cruise on this ship. I was then assigned back to USNaval Fources Europe in London England for another 3 years. I was then assigned to the USS Lexington (CVT-16) in Pensacola Florida. I got out of the Navy after this ship and moved to London England. I worked for awhile at Ford Dagenham but they were on strike more than they worked. I then went to work for London Transport working on the District Line. Started as a Guard and worked up to Driver. Upminister to Richmond, Wimbleton. In 1980 Iran took over the American Embassy The US Navy was short of my skills so I was recalled to active duty and assigned to the USS California (CGN- 36) I spent 181 days sitting off the coast Of Iran. I made my 3rd around the world cruise on this ship. I spent 3 years on this ship before being assigned to the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43) for 1 Year then I was assigned to the Navy Manpower Engineering Center, Norfolk Virginia. I hated doing manpower studies lol. After one year I was assigned to the USS Aubrey Fitch (FFG-34) in Mayport Florida. and retired Jan 1991 Most of my Naval career was very enjoyable with the exception of Vietnam. Combat History Vietnam War/Multiple Operations (1966)Arab-Israeli Six Day War/Attack on USS Liberty (AGTR-5) (1967) Cold War/Iran Hostage Crisis (1979 - 1981) Cold War/Ernest Will (1987 - 1988) Awarded the Vietnam Service Medal 4 times. My most memorable Naval experience was droping from 30,000 feet and landing on an aircraft carrier. When I retired I returned home to Mississippi and purchased a home with 4 acres of land. Since retiring from the Navy I have worked for 2 Casino's in Biloxi, Ms.I have since retired to a life of leasure I guess thats what you call not working.I Have visited most of the Countries of the World. Not much left that I havent seen or done at one time or the other. My Ethnicity: Fathers side, My Grand Mother was a full blood Cherokee Indian from Alabama, Grand Father German nationality from Tuscaloosa Alabama. Mothers side, Irish and English.
