About Me

Michael Douce, musician extradordinaire, born 23 years ago in Columbus, Ohio. As a toddler, Michael used his little fingers to gently play the ivories on a family piano, so his parents started him on piano lessons before age three. By age five he was studying with Mary Craig Powell, a professor at Capital University, with whom he studied classical piano with through his high school years. A student in Jazz Piano and Music Business, Michael attended Butler University, earning a B.A. in Music and Recording Industry Studies, graduating in 2005. He has recorded several albums by himself and with others, including three solo projects. Other recording projects include the celtic group Lone Raven, Craig and Kara Markley, the Christian band Coincidence Maybe, and the Indianapolis-based band Kevin Mohl and the Burning Sentation. Michael Douce has performed for and with nationally known musicians on many different occasions. Some of these include performing with Bobby McFerrin at Clowes Hall, David Tolley (National Recording Artist), Alex DePue (National Fiddle Champion), Mark Wade (National Hammered Dulcimer Champion), Stephen Clapp (Former Dean of Julliard), and Gary Walters (National Recording Artist). Michael has been the Director of Praise Music at Old Bethel United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana for four and a half years, leading the PRAISE worship service. Michael is engaged to Jennifer, and will be getting married in May of 2007!
