On July 7th 1984, Mooma Loudmouth gave birth to a handful of talent & trouble. Loudmouth, who excelled as a child in all his music programs had a special niche for musical compositions and melodies which helped him become the best trombone and alto sax player in school. When he turned 15 he was introduced to a CD mixer and with the help of DJ Cue he quickly fell in love with the device and began compiling his own mixes to bring to school. Seven years later and he has easily established himself as "The Dancehall Ambassador."Dj Loudmouth first burst onto the scene in 2001 with his series "Dancehall Invasion" which featured the popular riddim "Liquid." Six years later and he has now launched 5 successful series' and various other mixes and has no plans to let up on the consumers anytime soon.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1.) How can customers get a copy of older Dancehall Invasions or Loudmouth mixes?
A good number of people have asked me for Invasions 1-10 and to be honest, good luck finding them because I'm missing #3 myself. At the time I used to just put them out and sell them hand to hand until I woke up and realized that everybody was bootlegging them & mi neh ah get nuh richa & mi shoe front did ah talk! So I started distributing them but that wasn't until Dancehall Invasion #14.
2.) How come you don't play out anywhere?
I wish I had the time. Between being at school full time, working part time, and managing the CD ting, it's a miracle I still even have time to put out CD'S. People will get a chance to hear me soon though, however I don't see myself really being an every saturday night club DJ. I got bigger plans in store.
3.) Which one of your mixes is your personal favorite?
I couldn't pick just one. But if I had to narrow it down it would be between "Cultcha Invasion 6", "100% Rockas pt 4", & "Dancehall Invasion 22".
4.) What differs Dj Loudmouth from other DJ's?
When I say "Loudmout do di ting diff-rent" & "Talent ova dem arguement" it's not a gimmick or a joke ting. I put 100% effort into all my CD'S. Even the process is a big deal because I mix all my CD'S live. And by live I mean mixing between two decks, working my sampler and dropping effects simultaneously while recording live. Sorry to say it but nuff DJ'S use PC programs to mix they shit and while there's nothing wrong with that, (as long as you can play in a dance live) I feel like the vibe that I get while mixing a CD comes off better to the listeners as opposed to something that's computer constructed, it's more authentic. Hence the talk "Dem A FIX CD, Loudmouth A MIX CD!"
5.) How do you feel about the direction Canadian based artists & their music are taking?
I think it's crazy that Canada has so much talent but nobody is really makin noise over suh and roun suh. I mean Nelly put St. Louis on the map single-handedly so why can't T.O urban acts buss? I dunno, there's alot of industry politics to consider but as far as talent goes it's here...it's definetly here. We all have to work together collectively and break down that door but until that happens it's pretty much every man for himself.
