The creative force of Wayne and Shawn
As their names implies there is no short age of creativity about the duo Cp Inc. (Creative People Inc.) As talented singer/dj combination and skilled songwriters you will not easily find in todays dancehall. The Duo evolved from the group Meaness and Wanted and since coming together has forged a name and reputation in dancehall locally as well as with theri growing legions of fans in europe.
The two, Wayne Rose and Shawn Reynolds, have begun to create waves and under the astute management of Gary Exodus the duo is poised for greatness. Ever since they won two Guinness and $100 in a DJ contest at Port Morant All-Age, doing “Woman Pon Money†Wayne knew that he was destined for the music buisness.
Still things where hard after school and this led him to several jobs unrelated to the music filed such as being a security guard and fishing. “You name it I’ve done it†From Lime Cay to Pedro Cay, I have been thereâ€, said Wayne.
During this time he sharpened his writing skills and trained his voice
Ten years ago Wayne met with a group from seaview and thus began Meaness and Wanted. The community, which has been home of Bounty Killer, Elephant Man and Scare Dem, embraced the group, which started doing shows mainly for Bounty Killer on his Saddle 2 The East , and It’s a Party productions.
The group recorded “Eraserâ€, “Tego Flyâ€, “Ugly Galâ€, “ No More War†and “Girls Againâ€. But as with most groups on the verge of real sucsess, there was friction and soon the group drifted appart. However Wayne and Shawn remained true to their convictions.
Out of this came Cp Inc. And such recordings as â€Sunday To Sundayâ€, for Stone Love on the Rooster Riddim, “No Little Gal Can Trick Meâ€, for Triston Palmer done on the “Have Mercy†Riddim on Star Creation Label. This was followed by a combination with Bushman & Ras Goudie titled “Gun Thing aka Violence Fill The City†on the Exodus Label.
However the song with the current rave is “Too Much Killin’ In The Ghettoâ€.
To date their sole overseas apperance came in Antigua in 2004 were they where astonished at the reaction of the audience, given that they were the only act billed without a hit in that country. Prior to this they had released “Hold Him Down†in 2003 aimed at the Carribean Eatern market. The duo graced the stage at Sting in 2003 working a combination with Lexus, moved to Spring Break in 2004 and has been a fixture at the St. Bess Festival, working there on the 3rd, 4th and 5th staging.
The main focus of the duo at this time is putting the finishing touches to their break out single.
