(to pay via credit card or Paypal) go here:"Music is the by-product of a deeper purpose. Out of subconscious, experience, and the need to defend certain values, (it is) a bastion for the soul."--unknown...Indeed, music does serve a deeper purpose. With that in mind, the members of BASTION are ready and willing to deliver. Lead singer and bassist Brad Wilkins states, "Our music is for kids in high school, kids moving on to college, and kids in gangs or cults. It touches people who are pissed off about life, about work, about not having enough money or enough sex. These are people who are confused...who are searching...who know about rejection. We want to reach out to them. And we do, through our music."Drummer Greg Slone adds, "Our music can be dark, tortured, and angry. It can also be energetic, powerful, and uplifting. Just like life, we explore and exploit the reality of many different moods."BASTION was formed in late 2001 by Brad Wilkins and Greg Slone. The two had worked together in the mid 90's with the rock band Havoc 9 and immediately felt a strong connection. With the addition of Slone's long-time friend Don Gauck on guitar, the line-up was complete. "We seem to always be on the same page whether we are talking about music, philosophy, or business. There's a mutual respect between the three of us so, compromise and sacrifice is never an issue," says Gauck. The members of BASTION share a level of experience, training, and camaraderie that is rare in the rock music industry today. With influences ranging from jazz, to punk, to hard rock (Led Zeppelin, The Cure, Soundgarden, Fugazi, etc.), the band has developed a unique, hard-edged sound. Their attention to detail, their degree of talent, and their hard work ethic has earned them a nomination for the CEA (Cincinnati Entertainment Award) for Best Rock Band of 2005.The band's debut CD "The Honey Sacrifice" was released in May of 2005. Recently nominated for the CEA for Album of the Year, the powerful debut has received rave reviews from fans and critics alike. BASTION's high-octane live performance has also been creating quite a buzz. Their growing fan base has allowed them to tour throughout the Midwest and the East Coast.BASTION continues to spread their music across the country through the internet, radio, television, and live performances. Each member is focused on the premise of writing, recording, and performing rock songs with strong melodies and lots of attitude. As always, the band will try to fill the void (the deeper purpose) for the many fans who find a part of themselves in the music that is BASTION." / Get Off Your Ass and Call Us!
