D.R.O.casso

***********************************************D.R.Ocasso was born and raised in Boston, MA with his younger sister, Latania Knights, under the guidance of both parents, Francisco & Alicia Knights. The Knights family has been blessed with the gift of music and have accomplished a lot through out the decades. From his aunt, Hortensia Knights, who sung back up to Whitney Houston, to his next aunt, La Atrevida, who became the first Latin American female in Reggaeton to sign to a major label; They were both big influences toward his music career and became the blueprint to what is now, D.R.O.casso, a great all around artist.He first started rapping in the early 90’s under the name, MC Chek, with a group called Mass Confusion. This group consisted of two rappers, MC Chek and K-Dawg, plus chatter, Likle Red. While being managed by his father, the group proved to be a force to reckon with; winning competitions all through out Boston and becoming a local commodity. This taste of success was an adrenaline rush for D.R.Ocasso and the beginning of his journey in music.In 2000, D.R.Ocasso moved to NY and became a part of his aunt’s, La Atrevida, label called NY Demolition. He joined the group S.P.E.K.Z with his cousin Rojo and began stamping the imprint all over Brooklyn with mix tapes like “Free da Mind”, “Chapters for Thought”, & “S.P.E.K.Z – Simply Providing the Mix tape”. Furthermore, due to the success of La Atrevida, they were able to bleed through the Reggaeton market with the track “Rep Ur Hood” on the “ Who Started Reggaeton – The DVD”. This is where D.R.O.casso truly nurtured his lyrical ability while sharpening his business skills.Throughout the years, D.R.Ocasso has developed himself as an all around great artist and continues to intrigue minds with his ability. Now, he is back in Boston with his first solo project ever in his career, “Bostonian’s Seleccion – Holla Bank Vol. 1”, and wants the world to take a piece of him with them every time they hear is music. As D.R.O.casso states “ I’m here to supply my audiences with great music, and build a strong enough foundation to hold down all my peeps”.
