Band Members: ODRES it’s a band and a group of light warriors at the service of the Universe Creator, the Eternal, our God Almighty. Their main weapons are the music and their lyrics which are inspired by the Holy Spirit. The ODRES prime objective, it’s to reach the youth’s heart of the entire world through the hope and love message which comes from our major; Jesus Christ. The ODRES project emerges from God’s heart. He placed in the heart and mind of Jorge Lozano (Guitar and lead vocals) to make a Christian band. This was a dream that Jorge have had since he was a teenager. Finally, at the end of the year 2004, Eddie Lopez (an excellent bass player) supported to Jorge in his dream setting up the foundations of the project. In the middle of the year 2005, Mynor Montufar joins to the band to play the drums. This drummer, with a fusion technique, and with an amazing double bass pedal skill, contributes in a new musical way with the band. At the beginning of the year 2008, Eddie Lopez sadly decided to leave the band due to new projects that he wanted to carry out, and finally on May 2008, Jorge Marroquin “Pichi” joins to the band to play the bass, Elliot Engelbert de Leon joins too to play the lead guitar and Waldemar Arango The Sound master, now ODRES is a consolidated band ODRES it’s a Christian Rock band, but they play blues, ska, funk and reggae too, in an experimental way. Jorge Lozano, the leader of the band, defines the ODRES musical style in his own words: “We like to follow the songs requirements; we don’t like to follow a musical format or a defined music type. The versatility, it’s a musical feature that we want to exploit in a hundred percent. As a human beings created in God’s own image, we love to go out of the traditional commercial format, and we prefer to try and discovered new possibilities in the music; in a few words, we like to innovate and invent. We don’t pretend to create a new musical style; we just want to exert the freedom that God already gave us to make the music flow by itself inside of us, so this way, we will be blessing the life of the all young people of the world”. The lyrics (an essential part of a song, even more in the gospel music) have been inspired by the Bible, the word of God, our God whom we dedicate our music and our lives. ODRE is the literal name that has been given to a recipient made of animal leather that was used to mature the wine (Luke 5:38). This name is a metaphor for the band that makes reference to the human race, because all the human beings can be like an “odre” we can be filled with a worldly and perishable wine; formed of a plenty cultural ideas (most of them estranged from Jesus Christ) or, we can be filled with a celestial and eternal wine that comes from God, this means, think as Jesus Christ thinks, having the Holy Spirit in our lives, inspiring us, leading us, teaching us, setting us free and making us better human beings. On March 2006, they began with their first recording project in “Studios Muse” with the co-production of Joel Melchor (SEBNA* ex-guitarist) and Jose de Paz (producer of Studios Muse). On September 2008, produced their first CD album called “Levantando a los caidos” because that is the prime purpose of ODRES, lift the young people up around the world to be saved through the word that God has given to them. *SEBNA: a famous Christian band in the 90’s in Guatemala. www.studiosmuse.org www.myspace.com/odres
