Soundclash Soundsystem consists of DJs Mr J and Special K alongside MC Beau. Mr J and Special K founded the 'Soundclash Reggae Radio Show' (sponored by Quest) in 2000 broadcasting from Radio 1, 91FM every Sunday from 4 till 6pm.
We play a selection of Dub, Roots, Reggae, Revival, Hip Hop and Bashment riddims as well as the latest remixes. There is a heavy emphsis on Jamaican Music.
Soundclash has supported Lee 'Scratch' Perry and The Mad Professor (Dunedin and Christchurch) Spikey T, Matrix, DJ Bailey, Fierce, Fat Freddys Drop, Katchafire, Freq Nasty, P Money, DJ Sirvere, Sunshine Soundsystem, King Kapisi, Pitch Black, Manuel Bundy, Dubwise, Trinity Roots, Blackseeds, Salmonella Dub, Lady 6, Hollie Smith and the Illphonics, Irie Eyes, Kolie, Phantom Power, Zuvuya and many others.
We gave also played Rippon afterpartys 03 and 05, Dunedins annual 'Strictly Gangsta Party' (Mr J, DJ Shan and MC Beau). We are also responcible for Dunedins biannual 'Mid Winter Reggae Jam'
