Mélanie Elbaz

  Mélanie Elbaz was born in Avignon, France in 1971. She began her interest in photography at the age of 14. Her early works was shooting family and friends. She began her career as a photographer after having trained for 5 years between 1986 -1991 at the Ecole nationale de la photo in Arles developing an interest in portraits. Mélanie Elbaz started her career in 1998 photographing celebrities from the world of music Like Ben Harper,Tricky ,The Roots,Moby,EBTG…she started her first shoot for youth magazines With Terry jones ID magazine ,MAGIC and Vibrations ,Redux… Major magazine editors appreciate her direct and open style as well as her dialogue between the model and the photographer. As she herself says " i depended on the model’s personality,at least ,i wanted to depend on this because i am interested in personal reactions". Wether photographing models for fashion shoots or pop icons Mélanie Elbaz photographs Have continued to shape the visual language.
