Raymonulus Spoonheaduras, more commonly known as 'Spoonhead' is a producer and live act of the 'psygressive trance' family. Best described as a cross-breed of bird, amphibian and mammal, Spoonhead is known for his noisy, unusual call, different for each individual, that combines bellbird-like notes with clicks, cackles, timber-like creaks and groans, and wheezing sounds—the unusual possession of 2 voiceboxes enables Spoonhead to perform such a myriad of vocalisations[citation needed].
Some of the huge range of Spoonhead's sounds are beyond the human register. Watching a Spoonhead set, one can observe gaps in the sound when his beak is agape and throat tufts throbbing. Spoonhead will play at night, especially around the full moon period[2] through sunrise into the daylight hours.
Behaviour:
Although Spoonhead has a strong love for outdoor sound systems, he spends many long hours alone recording his call and tweeking it to perfection. Always striving to make it tighter, deeper and more entrancing.
His lifestyle involves among many other things: designing/making and selling clothing to other creatures that survive in the same habitat (or that which is similar), making music and sharing time with other creatures who enjoy this past-time, flying large kites during cold sea breezes to see how 'high[5]' he can go.
Habitat:
The southern coastal shoreline of Aotea Roa. In the area known as New Brighton.
How to spot this creature:
Spoonhead can rarely be spotted in outdoor events around the Sth Island.
Past sightings include: NZ outdoor parties and festivals: Canaan Downs Festivals, PsyPirates-Voyage, MASSIVE soulstice/equinox's, Smails Beach Dunedin gigs, Poos and Wees and some amazing wee parties in Golden Bay and Melbourne, Australia.
