Harpsichordist Alexandra Snyder holds degrees from the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, and Interlochen Arts Academy. She is currently a full scholarship student in the C.V. Starr Fellows Program as a Doctoral Candidate at Juilliard in the harpsichord studio of Lionel Party. Ms. Snyder is a Teaching Assistant and Theory Teaching Fellow at Juilliard. Other teaching endeavors have included the Morse Fellowship Program 2005-6 through Juilliard, a year-long residency teaching music in New York Public Schools, and the GO Project in New York City.In addition to teaching, Ms. Snyder is also an avid outreach performer,
playing with her Baroque Ensemble Les Claires in New York area hospitals as a part of Juilliard's Gluck Community Service Fellowship program. Ms. Snyder has also collaborated on performance projects with the The New Juilliard Ensemble, The Juilliard Electric Ensemble, The Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Baccanalia Baroque Ensemble, and The New York Philharmonic. Other performances have included such venues as Alice Tully Hall, The Peter Jay Sharp Theater, The Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, as well as in Italy, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Ms.Snyder's recent engagements include performances in Juilliard's Focus Festival, and The Gerome Greene Baroque Concert. She was also recently chosen as one of ten semifinalists in the Mae and Irving Jurow International Harpsichord Competition at the Southeastern Historical Keyboard Society Conclave in Denton, Texas.She grew up in a musical family which continues playing together. In 2005-6 Ms. Snyder and her family received special recognition on their annual New Years Concert from the Tennessee Congressman Harold E. Ford.
