Martin Avaro

Since a very young age Martin Avaro was interested in electronic music and the related arts. While in his native city (Córdoba, Argentina) he received the influence of national and international artists as: Juan Pryor, Aldo Haydar, Carlos Alfonsin, Luís Nieva, Cristóbal Paz, Simbad, Ángel Molina, Serafín, Michel De Hey, among others. He also was interested in experimental projects as: Microesfera, Sector 7G, Audio Perú, Yamil Burgener, Club Rayo just mentioning some of them. After perfecting his technique on the players and buying his first vinyl discs, Martin Avaro started to play on small private parties and events where he defined his style. At the age of 16 he played officially in a very well-known club named Molino Rojo in Villa Carlos Paz, Córdoba. This was the first step in his professional career as a dj. Along the years he was under a constant search of the esthetics in music showing that in his appearances until he reaches the dj cabin of the mystic night club, icon of the underground scene, named Hangar 18. During his extended career he played in notorious local venues as: Casa Babylon, El Ojo Bizarro, Era Groove House, Peekaboo, Club 33, La Luna Electrónica, Bonvoyage, Club Mini, Moog, Supperclub, E-Box, GreenFest* just mentioning some of the many other events and clubs he played at. Besides his work as dj he was also very involved with radio stations. He produced and aired a radio show named “Groove Land” from where he weekly introduced to his audience new sounds. Many local and national djs were invited to his radio show, this way the show turned into an iconic reference for the evolution of electronic music in the city. Sponsored by the radio station he organized three massive electronic music events and many join ventures with different night clubs. Under a steady growing and public recognition his appearances reach other cities as Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Tucumán, Neuquen, San Luís, Catamarca, Santa Fe, Chaco, Rió Cuarto, Villa Maria and also cities abroad as Santa Catarina State and Rió Grande do Sul in Brazil.The sharp esthetic on the musical selection is the main characteristics of his sets. The rhythm can vary from micro house, minimal tech house, techno house and techno minimal going through sequences of experimental sounds. His full of groove music and the atmosphere filled with glich sounds always generate an enthusiastic response in the audience.Associated with his colleague and friend Alex Alvarez aka killfish, they started the djroom project during year 2005. Dj Room is the only academy for dj teaching in the inland of Argentina. The main columns of the academy are the art, the culture and the electronic music. Since then Martin Avaro became the Director of this dj academy, and he personally teaches the djs that are just starting their careers. Nowadays djroom ( www.djroom.com.ar ) is positioned itself as a clear example of keeping the art within the music. He daily teaches the bases of musical culture, techniques and all the tools any electronic music artist needs. The academy has monthly conferences named djroom.intimo where many artists come to talk to people interested in the subject..In his stage as producer during 2007 y 2008, Martin developed a wide job of experimental sounds in the tracks “Madrugada de Martes”, “Hay Verdad”, “Mariscal”, “Camino de Piedras” among others. The track “Camino de Piedras” will be released by the label Naked Rec ( www.nakedrec.com ) during April 2008. His creations have many variations, so if we want to analyze his music we have to say that he is an eclectic artist influenced by different producers as: Electroliving, Juan Sorrentino, Ralf, Zort, Lexdinamo, Daniel Ceballos aka Plexo. He is always showing a unique combo of minimal sounds, hypnotic rhythms.
