About Me
Ruby St. Denis was born in Chicago, IL in 1976. The youngest member of a family of four, her musical talents began to blossom at the age of 3. At the tender age of 8, she had already recorded two albums, "Momma loves me", her debut album and "Flower Baskets and Chocolate", the latter selling 10,000 copies which was unprecedented for a black child.
By the age of 13, Ms. St. Denis was touring the world and performing to sold out houses. By this time, she had recorded four additional world acclaimed albums including "Miles don't know me", which today is considered one of her best albums to date. She also performed on Broadway in several shows including, "Charlie and Suzie", "A Merry Day in the Park", "Choose Me" and "Forever in your Arms".
By the age of 20, she starred in several major motions pictures including "Perfect People" from which she was nominated for an Academy Award.
She continued to tour and perform sold out shows all over the world until the age of 25 when she was in a car accident which caused her to have both hips replaced. After rigorous rehabilitation for her hips, then pain killers, then alcohol, Ms. Denis began recording and touring again. She made several guest star appearances for television shows and films including the wildly popular, "Living with Sarah", where she was Sarah, performed by Emmy Award winning actress Harriet Elfen's mother. She now currently resides in Henderson, NV with her current husband Ralph Morrows. Her new album, "Red Ruby", which is a compliation of her best hits will be in stores in March.
To this day, Ruby St. Denis is known for her music, her acting, and impacting jazz and musical theater to new heights.
