Split-Brain Animal are a band since the spring of 2004. Our main influences stem from the alternative scene (punk – rock at most) and our music is similar to these hearings. We've started with a different line-up(George K. on vox, Nick L. on drums John A. on guitar and Chris K. pretending singing!) and a completely different kind of music!
The same summer we met John P. who rehearsed and did very well, and discovered that Nick was able to sing(!) so after George quit the band we changed our line-up as it is today.
After that we tried to find a band name of course... what a difficult part of being a band... Then Chris came with the Action S.T. idea and we agreed because it was smart.
In Christmas 2004 we recorded our first rehearsal cd with many covers and that's all we did in 2004! The next year's spring we've had our first gig at the onoma tou rodou club and recorded our second rehearsal cd.
We started making our own songs and recorded the first demo on Christmas 2005. We've send the demo to participate at the "mad4bands cutty sark contest" where we've been chosen out of 111 bands to be in the final 10. In the end we finished in the 2nd place...(f***!) Then on spring 2006 after recording our second demo, there was the "Nakas pop&rock contest festival" where we've been chosen out of 170 bands all over Greece to be in the final 17... That summer another contest came across called "mad4positive energy" where we sent our demo and heard some excellent comments from people particular into music.All that time we did live shows in all over Athens!! On December of 2006 we had a call from Loud Sound productions to participate in the Battle of the bands contest were, after several appearances, on June 2007 we played in the finals (one of our best appearances) and finished 3rd! After that we had to replace John as he decided to leave the band (check our blog) and so, Vasilis is our new guitar player. Then we decided to change our name from"Action S.T." to "Split-Brain Animal"!
To conclude with, our main target is, our hobby and love to music,to be our main and unique occupation in future.
