Going from a free-flying soul to being as steady as a slow moving train is not necessarily how I pictured myself to be when I grew up, but it’s not so bad. Just because your clothes are mundane it doesn’t mean you still can’t be a punk at heart. Many think what you look like is a reflection of who you are, but I see that as about as much hog-wash as any other stereotype out there. It doesn’t mean that stereotypes don’t hold much weight, they serve a purpose, but just because you look like a nerd doesn’t mean you get straight A’s. I don’t dress up to impress anyone, and that is why as much as I often considered myself artistic, punk, hardcore or whatever, I never branded myself to be stereotypical any of it. I guess what I believe is that it is important to be constantly bettering yourself as a person, and I don’t mean making more money. Those standing still get left behind. I guess it goes along with the philosophy that the worst decision is no decision at all. I choose to move and not stand still.
