I know kung fu. I love martial arts, especially the traditional Chinese variety(Shaolin boxing, & Bagua Zhang in particular), though I really like Kali knife fighting. I have'nt got to travel very much yet, so I'm very interested in changing that. I love music, reading, art, movies, theater, philosophy, learning about other cultures. I like learning, and trying new things. I hope to hell that everything has'nt really been done yet. I occasionally get to do some recreational blacksmithing, when I visit my parents in the country; I hope to use this knowledge to transition into metal sculpture and jewlery making.
More than anything else I want to meet people I can connect with and learn from. Everyone has qualities that make them unique, and I hope to expand my own outlook, and maybe share something new with some new people. New friends, dating, maybe something more substantial. Mostly, I just want to have some fun. Although, if I could meet someone to help me learn mandarin; that would be awesome.
I like almost anything with a fast beat. Not too fond of the country genre, but there are exceptions to every rule. Typically:WhiteZombie, Rage Against the Machine, Godhead, whatever's angry and fun. Ludacris, Cypress Hill, Jay-Z, Beastie Boys, whatever makes me want to dance when I'm drunk enough. The doors, Nirvanna, Leadbelly, whatever makes me think when I've had a shitty day/week/month/you get the picture. I also love Psychobilly stuff like the Cramps, Rev. Horton Heat, Morphine, The Flame Trick Subs, Luxurious Panthers.
Oldschool kung fu movies, especially when their subtitled. Weird independent stuff, anything by Jim Jermuche. I love horror movies, either it's scary or it's funny either way you're entertained. Comedies are usually fun to watch. I'll sit through almost anything once. The Prophecy, the Crow, Fight Club, The Highlander, Deadman, Ghost Dog, The Jerk, almost anything with "the" in the title, apparently. Whatever's fun, I can't lie about the porn.
I have pretty crappy tv choices. I'll watch Smallville if I catch it. CSI, Law and Order, shows that let you pretend your actually thinking. The Daily Show, the Cobert Report any chance I get. Sci-fi channel, MTV on occasion, Adult Swim, Love that Metalocolypse. I am crack-ass addicted to Heroes, whatever else looks good I guess. Almost anything not labeled 'reality tv'. My favorites are those with a dark humor, like Dead Like Me.
Whatever catches my eye. Old classics like Braham Stoker's Dracula, or Oscar Wilde's the Picture of Dorrian Gray. I like reading books on people in general or in specific. In general books on kinesics(body language), how people interact with one another. In specific I like to read biographies, or auto-biographies like Russel Means' Where White Men Fear To Tread. I recently finished a book on the explosion of Krakatoa, The Sex Lives Of Cannibals, The Professor and the Mad Man. The Complete Idiots Guides, and I have a giant stack of language books(mostly Mandarin).
Thitch Nat Hahn, Russell Means, Leonardo Da Vince, William Blake, the Ramones, and my parents.
