Having met in Frankfurt, Germany by a chance encounter, this powerhouse duo became known as La Bouche (French for "the mouth") and conquered the dance music scene with landmark success, producing chart toping singles, peaking at number one in fourteen countries around the world. Lane's extraordinary, silky-smooth tenor voice, his ability to flip the rhyme, unique song writing talent and years of experience as a dancer, choreographer and actor, coupled with Melanie's legendary vocal presence, made La Bouche the successful dynamic duo that conquered the charts of the 1990s. With more than 10-million records sold under BMG/RCA records label and the meticulously watchful eye of legendary music mogul Frank Farian (Boney M and Milli Vanilli), La Bouche earned numerous awards, including the German Grammy the Echo, for Song of the Year in 1995. That year, Lane and Melanie received their second award, the Golden Europa, for Best Duo or Group, thus truly establishing these talented artists as a mainstay in the music industry. La Bouche was nominated for "Best Dance Video" at the second annual MTV-Europe Music Awards in Paris, France, and was nominated for three awards at the MTV VMAs in 1996. After taking Europe by storm, La Bouche took the lead with their undeniably powerful sound in the United States. With their hip and trendy style, La Bouche's Infectious became a permanent fixture in modern music and entertainment. A household name by the late '90s, whether driving in your car, watching a movie or television, or attending a major sporting event, if you have been on planet Earth, you have heard La Bouche's infectious melodies. Their success garnered La Bouche motion picture and soundtrack credits in productions including "Night at the Roxbury," "Romy & Michele's High School Reunion," and MTV's "Joe's Apartment." La Bouche was sited as one of the driving forces for now recognizing dance artiststhe Grammy Academy created two new categories: Best Dance Song and Best Remixer. It is no wonder that Lane was among those recognized with the prestigious ASCAP "Writers Award" for writing one of the biggest songs of 1996, followed by the Winter Music Conference's win for best dance recording for the single "Be My Lover." That same year the duo was nominated along side No Doubt and Tony Rich for Billboard Music Awards' "Best New Artist" category. As a result of his incredible success with La Bouche, Lane has been featured on various national and international television programs. He has had the honor of working with such esteemed entertainers as Bob Hope, James Brown, Lionel Richie, Seal, Bryan Adams, Dolly Parton, Boyz II Men and Natilie Cole. His charming and characteristic humor and witty personality coupled with his passion for current events and dedication to education and social development make Lane a popular artist for interviews and public appearances. Among other credits, Lane was interviewed by Regis Philbin, performed at MTV's Spring Break "The Grind" and has headlined for Germany's leading television music event, The Dome and France's Dance Machine. As a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Lane returns yearly to the Air Force's prestigious entertainment showcase "Tops in Blue" and has created cutting edge choreographies, developing raw talent into world class performers. His support of the troops has topped Lane's agendahe has participated in the USO Celebrity Circuit and feels these morale-boosting performances are among the most important achievements in his career as an entertainer. Lane's unselfish efforts were rewarded when he received the Golden Roger, a lifetime achievement award from the US Air Force. In addition to his strong musical endeavors, Lane has been actively involved with local, national and international AIDS foundations meeting with those diagnosed with HIV and AIDS.
