Mendez

Mendez.. mmm, some say they were Bournemouth's best unsigned band ever, I'll let you be the judge of that. I came across Mendez via an old cassette left in my flat by an old punk friend. There were about ten tracks ranging in quality from the unlistenable to the few tracks I managed to edit and put on my space for you all to listen to. The recordings are not that good quality but from what I have found out they were recorded in a basement on a home 4 track and then I had to rip them from a cassette. Okay Mendez were formed by 3 ex punks from back in the day who were thrown together in about 1996 as the world hurtled towards a new millenium. Mike Shaw an ex punk Vocalist from local punk fav's Illegitimate and The Intestines, Paul Hurst another old ex punk from local punk bands The Generators, Illegitimate and The Intestines, producer / remixer as Machiavellian Beats and Nick Uff ex punk, artist, long term member of The Gangaloya and singer with legendary Bournemouth Punks The Porno Squad who had a track released on a Crass Records compilation in the 80's made up the trio and they set about producing some of the best music to come out of Bournemouth and some seminal punk tunes.
