About Me

Get the dirt on my blog .My new research interest is the isolation inherent in consciousness and morality. Consciousness is fundamentally a first-person phenomenon, no one could know what it is like to be you, this information is private, ineffable, and as a result, isolating. At the same time, one's conscious experiences are severely disconnected from the outside world, with one's sensory input coming in rather narrow and sporadic bursts while consciousness flows on in an uninterrupted stream. This has the effect of creating a narrative of consciousness, a fiction that is liberally based on the external world yet contains enough peculiarities to act as a wall between conscious individuals, preventing the possibility of meaningful interpersonal connection in a society of solipsists.

Spent the day at Mickey's with John, Justin, and Peter. John's new uber rad lense has been kicking ass. The colors were muted because of the fog, but it made for some cool effects. Nude beaches might ...

So I met my dad in Tuolumne for a few days of hardcore climbing. Age be damned. We did Hobbit Book (5.7) and Mathes Crest back to back. These photos are from mathes, how sweet. Only camera I had was m...
