I just came in from nowhere and I'm going straight back there

About Me

Gal about town, radio producer/ presenter/ DJ,urban flâneur, unreconstructed old punk rocker and pussy lover.

See my photos on my Flickr site (see below) and blogs here and at http://munkibum.blogspot.com/

If you need to contact me I check my MySpace regularly, otherwise I'm very easy to find on Skype but you'll need to make yourself known as I don't accept any old riff-raff as a contact.

In 2009 I am looking forward to.... More capitalism in crisis, tidying my flat up (that's not really happened yet), art projects, bodily functions, and the long-awaited death of Thatcher (and that's still not bloody happened, has it?).
And apart from that I like taking pictures of all sorts of stuff including weird people and places, and bands. I've got loads of pictures from Brighton Live and you can see pics from this ere gig below from Los Mendozas and loads more on my Flickr site at www.flickr.com/photos/melita666

Now then, now then! Thanks to everyone who came to Another Planet at Eat@ in Hastings to see the brilliant gig with Lady Carol, and the marvellous Spacedog night. Check out reviews on my blog here and some photos from the gigs on my Flickr stream.

And I can legitimately add this ere video to my page as I did the camera for it. Lovely funny lady Lorraine Bowen asked me to help out with her "Post Office Blues" video - read more on my blog. And here it is....

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Oscar Wilde, Noel Coward, Cole Porter, Ella Fitzgerald, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Erik Satie and Claudio Monteverdi. Oh, and Rose West. Possibly. Or not.

My Blog

I LOVE THE PROMS!!

Whenever I tell someone I love the Proms, I'm greeted with a curious stare and an "Uh, so you go waving a flag?" It's a pity that the ghastly pomp-and-circumstance of the last night is the only thing ...

POST OFFICE BLUES - Lorraine Bowen's new video

London Road Co-Op closed about three years ago due to a falling demand for flat caps, nylon girdles and long johns. It's now a cavernous hollow shell of a building with just a post office tucked away ...

40 years on from the Stonewall riots

This weekend saw the fortieth anniversary of New York's Stonewall riots, marking the birth of the gay rights movement. Tired of being victimised by police, the clientele of mafia-run Greenwich Villag...

Spacedog at Eat@ in Hastings 20.6.09

"This one's about inviting your relatives round for a meal... except they leave without eating anything - because they're dead." That tongue-in-cheek eeriness epitomises Spacedog's darkly humourous t...

Das Fenster 26/5

I'm always a bit sad when the Festival ends as it's quite an anticlimax after a month of buzzing round town. So I thought I'd stretch it out a bit by popping into the Holmbush Records launch night at ...

Copperdollar 23/5

The amazing Speakeasy at the Blind Tiger Club at the start of the festival set a high bar for cabaret nights a venue transformed into a sleazy barely-legal dive with stuffed animals, a poker table, ...

Antony & The Johnsons 21/5

This concert with Antony and the Johnsons was even more of a magical experience than I'd anticipated. With a superb six-piece band variously playing cello, violin, drums, guitar, clarinet and sax, Ant...
