DogHouse Recording & Production is a full-service audio recording and production facility located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Our commitment to our clients is as it has always been - to provide professional quality audio production at a reasonable rate.
Our rates are the same as they were when we opened: our regular rate is $45 per hour and we do offer discounts for blocks, as well. An 8-hour block is $342, a 12-hour block is $486 (5% off and 10% off, respectively) and anything 20 hours or over is $37.50 per hour. Our engineer and a master CD is included in those prices.
We don't have any additional charges period.
If you purchase a block (to get the discount), you don't have to use all the time at once. For instance, if you were to purchase a 12-hour block, you could track for five hours one day then schedule the remaining hours over the course of two or three weeks to come in and overdub and mix. We don't place a time limit on pre-paid blocks, either. We've even had bands purchase them in January and not use any time at all until August!
Our staff offers a wealth of experience composing, playing and recording all styles of music with our Chief Engineer even garnering coverage on the front page of the Style section of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in 1997.
The heart of the studio is our Power Mac G4 running DP5 and tons of plugins. What does that mean? It means you can have any amount of tracks you want, sounding virtually any way you want. Mixing is automated, meaning if you get home and decide your song needs more bass in the middle for 8 bars, just call and tell us - we can fix it without having to remix everything and usually without you here! We can also take care of your mastering needs.
Do you need graphics done? We've designed logos for artists, as well as CD booklets, letterhead, brochures and more. We can also help you design media/promo kits.
DogHouse has been in business since January 1996 and has recorded virtually every style of music including jazz, country, gospel, bluegrass, folk, rap, hip-hop, punk, funk, R&B, and death metal, and on and on. We have also done voice over recordings for radio ads, on-hold telephone messages for businesses, and narrative recordings for interactive museum exhibits and CD-ROMS.
We have taught Intro to Digital Audio for the Radio, TV, and Film Department of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and lectured for the National Broadcasting Society.
DogHouse has donated recording time and services to organizations such as Arkansas Arthritis Foundation, Arkansas AIDS Foundation, The CornerStone Project, the United Way, and L.O.V.E. (Let Our Violence End).
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, debit cards, checks and good old US dollars.
