"Accessories are what complete the look" is the motto jewelry muse and creator of Ginger 13, Cindy Yokoyama has followed since a tender age. “I love jewelry not only because it can truly change a look, but also because it's individual, personal, and sentimental," Yokoyama claims. This certainly rings true in her accidental creation of the cheery, colorful charms found in her jewelry line Ginger 13. The pieces effortlessly blend the designer’s passion for art history, painting, nature, people, and most poignantly- the Hawaiian Islands. Yokoyama naturally includes elements of the islands in every piece she creates, whether it's the blue of the ocean, colors of the rainbow, greens of the tropical trees, or shells of the fruits. "Hawaii has been such an inspiration for me and after finishing school and feeling creatively stifled, my secret hobby took a hold of me", says Yokoyama. Buyers, friends, and trendsetters on the street took notice of Yokoyama's hidden talent, which catapulted her into business before she even realized. The creations are eclectic, funky, and fun. The name? "Well 13 is a family lucky number. Ginger is my long time beloved pet dog. It just fit!"
