Bang Scratch Holler
It’s almost time for the Banging Scratching and Hollering to begin!
This October school holidays Bellingen Shire young people aged 12 to 24 have a chance to learn new skills, get creative and make some noise.
And best of all – it’s all FREE!
In Urunga there will be singing workshops with Lea Gillard of Rock Chick at the Literary Institute Hall. They will run 10:00am to 2:30pm Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15th of October.
In Bellingen there will be DJ’ing workshops with Josie at the Memorial Hall. They will run 10:00am to 2:30pm Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15th of October.
In Dorrigo there will be Drumming workshops with Kye Tipping at the Youth Centre. They will run 10:00am to 12:00pm Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15th of October.
In Bellingen there will also be Filmmaking workshops with Carol Kostanich on Wednesday the 14th, Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th. Venue is to be confirmed.
On Friday the 16th of October 10:00am to 12:00pm the three groups will come together at the Memorial Hall to mix up all their singing, DJ’ing and drumming skills and prepare for a performance.
On Saturday the 17th of October the three days work will culminate in a performance at the a group performance at the Bellingen Community Markets

Living in Bellingen,Urunga, Thora, Kalang, Mylestom, Repton or thereabouts?
Bellingen & Seaboard Youth Services provide information, advocacy, referral and development for young people and put on workshops,events & activities.
Our Youth Workers can be of assistance in many ways.
We can also offer information or advice to parents needing help with issues to do with young people.
BSYS may be able to help you.
You can come in and use our phone,fax & internet or drop in and pick up some free condoms.
We also have loads of books, videos & CD Roms about lots of different stuff that you can borrow.

BSYS is located in the Council Grounds, Hyde Street (main street), Bellingen.
The Office is open:
Tuesday 10am -4.30pm
Wednesday 10am - 4.30pm
Friday 10am - 4.30pm
In addition our youth worker, Amy, is available at Bellingen High School on Tuesdays at lunchtime and at the monthly Bellingen Community Markets between 11am to 2pm.
We are continually working on ideas for projects, events and activities and would love to hear from you if you have an idea.
