Based on his 1983 book, Stuart Samuels' affectionate documentary celebrates six groundbreaking films of the 1970's The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Eraserhead, The Harder They Come, Night of the Living Dead, Pink Flamingos and El Topo. These movies were banished to midnight screenings for challenging the conventions of the time. They eventually gained a cult following, helped define the counter-culture and changed the way today's audiences view film.
The documentary features archive footage and priceless interviews with key figures of the midnight movies phenomenon, including John Waters, David Lynch, George A. Romero and Alejandro Jodorowsky.
