About Me

Ster´ ê · ôs (Gr.) adj. firmly fixed; steady; constant; [syn.] steadfast, solid.

Stereos is a four-piece band based near Reading, Pennsylvania. These gifted young musicians share a mutual calling to utilize compelling music and lyrics to draw listeners to the One from whom they have received their inspiration and talent. Pleasing their Savior, Jesus Christ, through the medium of music is the passion that fuels this band’s creative flow.

Pronounced 'stair-ee-ose' , the band’s name is a Greek word which means “unwavering, steadfast, immovable” and which conveys the intense commitment to God that each band member strives to uphold. This solid faith is evident in original lyrics that confront the real life struggles facing today's generations with the power of God’s redemption and restoration.

Stereos’ lyrics are packaged musically in a variety of styles that transcend the boundaries of any single genre. Describing the Stereos sound as alternative rock, high-energy punk, hard rock, pop, contemporary worship or even emo could be correct but yet does not effectively capture the band’s ability to blend musical preferences. The common thread is captivating and memorable melodies, guitar and keyboard-driven instrumentals and an energized bottom-end rhythm established by the bass and drums. Stereos’ versatile musicians comfortably shift from hard rock to punk to piano ballads to worship without ever losing the fresh excitement that gives life to each song.

This diverse and electrifying music has blessed Stereos with a cross-generational appeal. A Stereos event is filled with the expected enthusiastic kids, youth and young adults, but they are always joined by the “young at heart” – youth leaders, parents, coffee-house owners, pastors, grandparents – all stirred by the lively songs and heart-felt words. The band is at ease developing a rapport with the audience, creating an interactive feel to the event. Stereos encourages the people to clap, sing, cheer, jump, dance and worship as they allow God to establish a sense of freedom through their music. A Stereos concert is an effective and engaging blend of fun, entertainment and ministry.

All four members of Stereos are long-time, integral parts of their home church worship team, and each one has served as worship leader in church, school or small group settings. Stereos is experienced and adept at leading powerful, anointed worship in church, retreat or concert settings and can offer a broad repertoire of popular contemporary worship music in addition to their original material. If appropriate, the band is comfortable and well-equipped to end an event with an alter call or time of ministry. Stereos desires that their concerts, CDs and lives encourage others to find a deep and passionate experience with God.

Stereos released their first cd, When It All Comes Down, in January of 2006. In early 2007, the band experienced some lineup changes (on good terms) but managed to maintain a continuous event schedule. They entered the studio near the end of summer '07 to begin recording their follow-up full-length album, tentatively scheduled for release in early 2008.
