I was born an raised in Decatur, Ga. (Where It's Greater...Well at least it used to be..lol) I am a 96' Alum of Columbia High School. I currently am a Senior at Morris Brown College persuing a degree in Organiztional and leadership Management with a Concentration in Business Law.degree. From Morris Brown I plan to pursue my Masters in Educational Leadership. I want to be a principle or have the opportunity to implement the curriculum into the school systems. I believe that there is a shortage of good, qualified teachers and I want to promote change where ever I can.
I am the eldest of 5 children Andreana, Torien I, Toriuna, and Shaundon. And the proud Aunt of 7. Tara, Cj, Keloni, Torien II, Lyric, Alexis, and Trendon. (Auntie loves you!!) And How can I forget my God-Children, Bianca, Jaylen, Jaylan, Lance and Zori. And before they kill me, I have 4 adoptive children.. Bethany, Marcus, Jara, and Mike..(See, you guys are special too..lol). I am blessed to have 2 living parents that are doing wonderful. (See guys, I didn't turn out so bad after all!!).
I was raised in the church. I have been singing since the age of 3. Since I was introduced to singing, It has really been my life. Being raised in the church I have gone through a lot of transitions, and unfortunately a victim of church hurt. But it was that hurt that oushed me to the next level..I just had a thought...Isn't It funny how whatever hurt in life we experience, when the wound heals we always find ourselves in a different, but better place? Can the church say Elevation!!!!? (Whoa I wanted to shout on that one.) It was during a period of devestation that God sent me my best-friend and my Husband Kevin Lemons. I adore my husband. I love him because he accepted me with all of what I thought were flaws. It seems he loves me harder because of them. I love him because he has a heart for people, and he loves his family. I love him most of all because he never comprinises to get ahead. He has given me so much knowledge about life that I think is priceless. When I found myself in a state where I wanted to give up on life he changed my way of thinking. He taught me how to love when I thought I had no more to give, He taught me to trust when I thought that everyone in the world was just so cruel. He showed me that I had to take responsibilty for the mistakes I had made in my own life before blaming the world. We have been best friends for 10yrs, and married for 2. And the bond we have is priceless I would not change it for anything.
Don't be fooled, Kevin is a man of many gifts. He is a Teacher, Singer, Director, Counselor, and my favorite a Comedian. There is never a dull moment with Mr. Lemons..lol.
One of his greatest accomplishments is his Ministry here in the city called Higher Calling. They have been together for 13 years and God has annointed them for such a time as this. The ministry is forever growing, lives are always being changed, and the ministry is always being challenged through the encouragement that he gives.
I can go on all day about Kevin, but this is the ABOUT ME SECTION, so back to me..lol.
I have always been a pursuer of music.In my pursuit, God has given me the opportunity to do background with such artists as Prophetess Juanita Bynum, Pastor Marvin Sapp, Pastor Noel Jones and City of Refuge(Gospel SuperFest) Tremaine Hawkins, Byron Cage, Beverly Crawford, Kevin Bond, Yolanda Adams, Vanessa Bell-Armstrong, Fred Hammond, Ricky Dillard, Hezekiah Walker, Donald Lawrence, Dr. Maurice Cullpepper & Praise Power Fellowship, Myron Williams, Dottie Peoples, San Franklin-Stancil, Leanne Faine, Lucinda Moore, Eumika Bodie-Griffin, Lonnie Hunter, Sonya McGuire, Keith Dobbins, Maxine Blake, Desmond Pringle, Kirby Brown, Lashaun Pace, Jai White, Soundtrack for the movie "The Gospel", And recently had the opportunity to appear on Bobby Jones Next Generation with Higher Calling, and BET's Sundays Best.
teachers and I want to promote change where ever I can. I take none of my failures or successes for granted. And I am looking forward to started on the next incredible journey God would have for me to travel.
