Hi, my name is Wele'la and I am a dancer from Los Angeles. I began dancing at the age of 4. I have to thank my mom for getting me started and pushing me along. She encouraged me to perform at a young age. She would stay up late for hours rehearsing with me for my shows. She paid for many dance classes from ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, tap and if it wasn't for my parent's support I wouldn't be here.
At 14, I began studying under Beth Burns and performing with her company the St. Joseph's Ballet Co. At 16 I became dance captain of my high school dance team. During a holiday break in college, at 17 I took a class at the Edge Studios on my time off, and teacher/choreographer Dante' recommended that I begin dancing professionally. So, I auditioned for my first agent at 18, and I thank God for that opportunity. I signed with BBA Dance Agents my first audition with them. That next week, they sent me out on a call for Wyclef...and I booked that too ;)
I love to perform, and I would really like to help those who are new to the industry. I could share some words of wisdom along with some encouragement.
