About Me
Zukhan: He who conquers.Living up to his name, the self proclaimed Genre Jumper is taking over the charts with the current hit Jim Jones single, Fly High. As a self taught musician Zukhan prides himself in respecting sound, believing that sound has a certain texture. Having talents as a writer, producer and musician this up and coming talent translates his thoughts into something tangible; the result: club bangers, inspiration and soundtracks to life. Some people just make beats. Theres a difference between making beats and producing songs, I give my production a musical sound bed.Having worked with artists such as LL Cool J, Jay Z, Vivian Green, Ludacris, The Roots, and a host of other projects; Zukhan has proven his production style as one to be reveled. Bey has collaborated with writers/producers such as Scott Storch, James Poyser and Kara Diagordia who have all co-signed projects that show his creativity and artistic flexibility.During his earlier years in Philadelphia, Zukhan listened to various styles of music while at the Speakeasy owned by his Grandmother. She used to blast music from the 60s, 70s and 80s while she was hustling; its where I got my grind from. My production style has always been one of a genre jumper. Ive worked in pop, rock, video games, hip hop, R&B, movie soundtracks etc. I have never been influenced by anyone in particular. I have always been innovative, says Zuhkan. Having never listened to music for admiration purposes, Bey listened for what was not there, what was missing. I admire where there is an opening. I listen for what is not being done. He then creates an avenue to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. In 1999 Bey bought the first component of his musical arsenal, the MPC 2000. (Which he fondly calls his P-I-MPC 2000) Feeling the need for a musical outlet for his ideas Bey decided to use this as a vehicle to push his music out. After purchasing the MPC 2000, Zukhan reminisces, I felt like a king. I saw everything happening as it is happening now. I was excited. It was like getting a bike and knowing you can ride it like everyone else. I knew I was in the game but I try to keep it real and stay rooted. My music is like the horizon. People may see it from different angles but the horizon never changes; its always one with everyone. In addition to producing Zukhan writes, plays the guitar and piano. In this era of music production there are a rare few producers who can assist the artists they work with in multiple aspects. Zukhan brings to the table an expertise in vocal production and writing to compliment the tracks he produces.
