Talent is common in the world today. Raw God-given talent is not common. Andy Ferguson, a Christian artist from Southwest Virginia, has that unique talent which seems to just flow from his fingers as he makes the guitar speak the lyrics in tune. With influences as diverse as Petra, Joe Satriani, Steven Curtis Chapman and David Huff, his lyrics are simply a translation of the rhythm and soul to what his hands are doing.
In his debut project, Carried Away, Andy has written all his music with inspiration from God and by life’s experiences. Seeing close friends fight cancer, losing young relatives in tragic accidents and his own illnesses, Andy has penned what is in his heart and fashioned it all into his music. His message brings hope.With a few lessons on guitar as a young boy, he quickly became a natural self-taught guitarist who now, when he stands in his church playing, he reaches all ages of his audience. Ferguson currently works as a youth and music minister. He has performed with Donnie McClurklin, David Huff and Fred Hammond. He has also traveled with a gospel blues band throughout the Gulf Coast States. He has ministered to youth at camps and rallies in Virginia and Tennessee. His desire is to be discovered as a song-writer and guitarist so that God will bless and transform the lives of those who hear his music.Andy’s passion is ministry by music to those in the world who are suffering, searching or striving to walk closer with God.
