kOkO Xperience

Koko is a West African word for the universal meal that feeds the body and soothes the soul. Koko is a fermented grain porridge found in all cultures that has comforted people of all ages and social status for centuries. .
THE ENSEMBLE:
kOkOexperience: was formed by Primary Skills Art Institute (PSAI), a Maine-based non profit organization created to provide integrated cultural activities in New England, through the arts in education. www.pskills.org
kOkOexperience is a groove pulsator that ferments traditional poly-rhythms into an indigenous intoxicating dance. kOkOexperience delights audiences of all ages and cultural backgrounds by blending a variety of ethnic flavors such as Afro-beat, funk, rock, jazz and soul into one original sound inspired by the Maine landscape. The group varies in size based on venue, as few as three with a school group, with as many as fifteen in public presentations/performances.
The Goals of kOkOexperience: 1) to promote activities that bring together area residence interested in cultivating perspectives and consciousness, to create cultural harmony. 2) To use sounds and vibrations to aid in reducing anxieties and social stresses..................
