In 2001 I moved from Philadelphia to Baltimore to do a year of service with a volunteer program. That year changed my life and defined my career path. I served as a community organizer (with real responsibilities) for a small section of Southwest Baltimore.One year in Baltimore stretched to two, two turned into graduate school, graduate school turned into 5 years. So finally, in 2008 -- after seven years -- I moved back to Philadelphia.Now I live in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia and am excited to be so close to great restaurants, bars, historical sights, and running/biking trails.I continue to work in the community organizing field and I've got a degree in Pastoral and Spiritual Care. I have pretty strong convictions when it comes to social policy and international work. Faith and values are qualities in myself and in others that I take seriously.Turn offs include religious extremism (that includes you too, Christians), Bill O'Reilly, automatic transmissions, hummus, and the cherry goop that usually ruins cheesecake.I love laughing and making people laugh. Some of my best times are at a quiet evening with some friends. One of my favorite things to do is sit by the water and watch the boats and people go by - even in the winter. I hit the gym most days after work and on the other days I like to take a run around town. When I’m not doing that, I'm probably eating or drinking at a local pub.
