About Me

Defoe is best known for his work with legendary British bands Central Line and Hindsight. (Central line are best remembered for their International hits such as "Walking into Sunshine" and "Nature Boy", while Hindsight's "Stand Up" hit was from 1998). Defoe played a major role as guitarist, vocalist and producer on the albums "Breaking Point" and "Choice" (Central Line), and "Days Like This" (Hindsight).Defoe's subsequent work has highlighted his versatility as a musician and vocalist, playing wooden flute in addition to his acoustic and electric guitar virtuosity and working with a varied cross-section of artists.Defoe has worked with Jacki Graham, Derek Bramble, David Grant, Imagination, Gwen Guthrie, Nick Straker, DC Lee, Style Council, Heatwave, Denis Bovell and Linton Kwesi Johnson.Defoe's writing credits include collaborations with Camelle Hines, Roy Carter, Linton Beckles, Lipsun Francis (Central Line) and Dennis Bovell, as well as with poet Benjamin Zephanish on the "Us An Dem" album (Mango/Island Records) with whom he both toured and was musical director. All this in addition to his own unique repertoire of original songs.Defoe has recorded and performed with Steve Williamson, playing both electric and acousic guitar on the "Journey to Truth" album (Nippon/PolyGram); Keith Waith, playing flute on the "Magic Of Olmec" album (Keda Records); and Camelle Hines' album "Soul Degrees" (Victor Records).Defoe has toured with Grover Washington, Roy Ayres, Ronnie Laws, Sly and Robbie, Robert Palmer and Lenny Kravitz (playing acoustic guitar and singing backing vocals).During the 1990's Defoe spent some time working exclusively with the Wade Brothers, a gospel Quartet signed to Benson Records, playing acoustic guitar and singing backing vocals; their most recent event being the "Champion of the World Show" at Webmley Arena (June 14, 1996). He also played a major role in the remixes for the last Babamal 12" (Sedicia/Mango Records 1996). Henri Defoe played with Dennis Rollins who recently recieved a BBC Jazz Award, toured with Right Said Fred and also played on Mysterious Girl (Peter Andre)Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
