About Me

Glenn is a native of Washington D. C., who has studied jazz, classical and latin piano for over 34 years. He has performed and recorded with such national artists as Lloyd Price, Jerry Butler, Gene Chandler, Ben E. King, Yolanda Adams, Al Green, Jean Carn, Eric Benet, Monica, Monifah, international blues guitarist Memphis Gold, Marcus Johnson, and Jr. Walker and the All-Stars. He has served as the music director for The Flamingos, and also Phil Flowers Jr., and was selected to be the music director for the Ghana Jazz Festival, which featured Freddie Jackson, Angela Bofill and Marcus Johnson in Ghana, Africa. Glenn was also chosen as the Music Director for the Capital Jazz Festival New Artist Competition. Presently he is keyboardist for the smooth jazz saxophonist/vocalist Walter Beasley.On the local scene, He has performed and recorded with Marshall Keys, Sendy Brown, Miriamm Wright, Earl Carter and has enjoyed an eighteen year (18) tenure with the contemporary jazz group Collaboration. He has also performed with Phase II (who won the Capital Jazz Festival New Artist Competition in 2006) on the Capital Jazz Cruise. Glenn has just finished composing two songs for Earl Carter’s upcoming smooth jazz recording project. He also arranged and recorded all of the music for Tyrone Lumpkin’s new projectHe has co-written a number of theme songs and commercial bumps for Black Entertainment Television, most notably, “Video Soul” and “Caribbean Rhythms”. He arranged and engineered Miriamm Wright’s “We Must Find A Cure” recording project – which is a tribute to cancer research. He has taught classes on “The Essentials of Sound”, at Omega Recording School, in Rockville, Maryland. The academic year of 2003 – 2008, he taught the Digital Recording/Computer Music class at Woodrow Wilson Senior High School, which at the time was a pilot program, as well he ran the jazz band program there.. He was also a jazz piano instructor for the Thelonious Monk Jazz Institute, and a registered songwriter for BMI (Broadcast Music Incorporated), as well as a member of the following organizations, The Fish Middleton Jazz Foundation and IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators)...
