What We Do.
iLL Citizen feels the days of experimenting have long since past. We still depend upon distressed PCs and microphones that suffer all year colds, but the sounds travelling through these platforms has shifted and evolved. Our music now plays confidently through any sound system, and offers something different to everyone on the receiving end of a recording. The music we choose to produce and provide encapsulates reality, and is a positive thing born from the strains of life. It’s probably fair to say everyone feels the strains of living sometimes, and iLL Citizen takes its place amid the hype and confusion to bring a little clarity. We endeavour to provide substance to listeners, and we work hard to give audiences something original to move to.
What We Want.
iLL Citizen aspires to give fresh sounds, powerful beats, and origional content. We gravitate from hip-hop to deliver music that’s authentic and energetic, and speak directly with the listeners to either; make you think, or funk.We want to inspire our listeners. By doing this we are opposed to encouraging or utilising gangsterisms. Instead we use a universal language to reach out to unorthadox/traditionalist hip-hoppers, and attract the attention of those unfamiliar to what hip hop can offer. The music and lyrical content is presented independently to trends and stigmas, to make what we say accessible to people from all walks of life. We aim to build bridges among cultures, to destroy prejudice and mechanisms of social unrest, and ultimately; provide something to believe in and become a part of. iLL Citizen (in a nutshell) wants to empower the individual through knowledge and awareness.
