Myspace Backgrounds How would the Andrews Sisters have sung Madonna or Bob Marley? What might Duke Ellington have made out of songs of Stevie Wonder or Nirvana? What is the answer from Jazz on the radio charts of today?
The World screams for swing. Everywhere, bands like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Zoot Suit Riot pop up, old greats like The Contender and Paul Anka experience new bloom. Not to talk about the musicals like "Sing Sing Sing", "Berlin Swings - Tanzen Verboten" and all the coverbands.
"The time for this music had simply come. It would have been meaningless to try and resist it", says Lars Mensching, trumpeter and bandleader in The Queens Gang Orchestra. It can't be denied: People want to dance to groovy horn sounds again! The Queens Gang Orchestra see themselves as members of the Neoswing movement. Their three singers sing in the old Close Voicing Style - just like the Andrews Sisters already did and amazed the crowds.
It was just a question of time until the right musicians found themselves out of the hot melting pot of Berlin's jazz scene, to connect modern pop music with the old ballroom orchestras.
The Queens Gang Orchestra was born!
The ten musicians play popsongs of today in the style of the old, golden times. With amazement and surprise, the audience sometimes only recognize the familiar songs in the last bars, like "I Shot the Sheriff", "Material Girl" or "Free Your Mind". There is something for the eye as well in The Queen's Gang Orchestra, when the hot and fiery seven piece band light up under the three lovely singers with swings and grooves.
Let yourself be amazed from this newcomer! The Queens Gang Orchestra is a must for every swing connosseur... and every tired pop fan.
Bis bald . . . See you soon! The Queensgang Live (Anzug, Schlips und Hut sind nicht erforderlich, aber es wird empfohlen, ein zweites Hemd mitzubringen.)
