Randy AmadÃs Cruz, a native-born Puerto Rican, raised in New Jersey, uses his Middle name AmadÃs as his stage name. Although he has been performing for the public since childhood, it wasnt until he started winning talent shows while he was attending the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico that; he decided that entertainment might be something he should look into.He always had a keen interest with music. He grew up listening to and admiring the talent of such artist as: Celia Cruz, Gloria Estefan, Olga Tanon, Ednita Nazario, Yolandita Monge, Lunna, Marc Anthony, Luis Miguel, Chayanne, Ricardo Montaner, Christian Castro, Patti Labelle, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Bette Midler, Barbara Streisand, Madonna, Elton John, Luther Vandross, George Michael, and along with Janet and Michael Jackson. What he admires most about them aside of their talents; is their versatility with music. AmadÃs has changed his style in music as well. While still admiring R&B, he has taken a different approach along with his contra-tenor voice, by mixing R&B with Salsa, giving his personal Latin touch.
