Hi, my name is Stanislav Malak (or just Stano) and im born in Slovakia (Europe) in the spa town of Piestany. My town is not so big, but i love it because its the best place to relax and chill out. It is the home of the most tallented musicians and artists in slovakia. I think my town has a influence on many creative people living here, including me.

My creative beginnings are in the street art or graffiti. I've been using name Jas since. During this time have been runing a local graffiti page with photos from around my area called the Adrenaline Rush. Graffiti gave me some street background and I like to include the artistic knowledge i earned in my later work a lot.

I've always had a passion for computers and for arts too. That's the way i found Photoshop. Since then I express my creativity with a computer as my tool for giving my ideas the right shape.

At the begining a was doing mainly webdesigns, banners and flyers for parties and friends. During this time i have cooperated with all major slovak portals around electronic music (rave.sk, bajkonur.sk, partyzona.sk, rave.cz or artattack.sk).

After my high school i found me a job at Q7 Media. They are a web development studio, so i have been working on websites and flash animations for companies like SkyEurope or music festivals like the Country Lodenica.

My conclusion after this work was to begin designing on my own, simply be my own boss. This is where my www.jas-design.com (web and design studio) came to life. My main area of work was still designing websites, but this wasnt all i did. I have hired the best people for programing and flash animations here in slovakia. We are working internationaly succesful as a team for several years now. The client range starts at some internationaly known djs like Dj Rush, Dj Boss; goes trough music portals like Partyzona.sk, Slovak Dance Awards; electronic shops like Tribalgear.sk, Aster.sk and finishes with big corporate internet and intranet websites for Aral, Toolsquare and many other happy clients follow.

As Jas-design began to be recognised as one of the leading young design studios in Slovakia, the variety of projects was spreading. Besides websites i was doing all corporate identity stuff, designing logos, brochures, catalogues, posters and so on.

Things got more interesting as i became the offer to design a MP3 player for Lexar Media. This was an important time in my life and quite a turn. After 3 days of designing the player, it was picked for mass production and i was hired to work at Toolsquare in Myjava as the chief designer. This is how my carrier as a industrial designer started. During the folowing couple of years more and bigger projects came trough my hands. Worth to mention are a complete Diablosport chip tuning lineup of devices for american wehicles, or usb minidrives for Lexar/IBM, all this designed by my self. I became the head and manager for my own team of designers at Toolsquare. Most of my work went to the USA to our main customer, the car tuning company Diablosport on Florida.

During the third year of working at Toolsquare things around Jas-Design got into a dramatic change. I have quit Toolsquare, then started Jas-Design s.r.o. as a company with one of my best friends Marek Kurtiš together and began to work in the famous KuulFabrik agency in Bratislava under the roof of the KuulMedia advertising agency division. In Jas-Design i became the artdirector and Marek is the manager dealing with clients and our external employees. This way is it possible to make our workflow faster and produce more in shorter time. The main focus of Jas-Design are websites, printdesign and DTP services, studio and outdoor photography of people, products and events. We still do industrial design in photorealistic 3D quality. We have got into tv production of graphic advertising spots or directed videos together with the Wolf Gang. And we offer sound producing, remixing, mastering, postproducing or editing of what ever beat or music you may need together with Dole Gate studios from the 88 Hydrostreet.

I have also became a photographer. I have started with landscape, nature and macro photography, and also panoramas (see my portfolio at jas-design.com). Most of my other photomanipulations and wallpapers you can find on http://jas-one.deviantart.com . But this gallery is not very up to date. In 2007 i have bought me a Nikon D80 with a couple of lenses. This is where the quality of photos got good enough for profesional use. One year later comercial projects came, and my photos were the main part in a few sucesfull advertising campaigns landwide.
