African American Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (AACBWI) is an online community of emerging and established children’s book authors and illustrators of color. The organization was founded by Sabra Robinson in 2003. Today, it has more than 60 members and includes a website -- http://www.aacbwi.com , Yyahoo! listserv and this latest addition, a myspace page and blog featuring interviews of African-American creators of children's literature.
