About Me

Here are the basics in a nutshell: I'm 30 years old; married with two smart, cute toddlers; the oldest of three children (shout out to Jessica and Bryan); daughter of Daryl and Louise, the two most loving and supportive people I know; granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend to many (but close to few!).
Here are some of the random bits: I love singing in the shower, coffee, pumpkin carving with my family, taking photos of my children, listening to rain on the roof or while in a tent, taking long walks in the fall with Luis, cooking elaborate Southern dinners, seeing my boys smile at me, shopping with my sister, background music at home, playing with our kitten Jinx, homemade pasty pie, hot baths, nursing (the profession, not the whole feeding of the baby from the breast thing, although that's good, too), the circus, raw almonds, Burt's Bees lip balm, a good deal, sunsets in Bahia Kino, my Mexican family, digging my hands in the earth first thing in spring, dark chocolate, massages, the smell of woodsmoke on a crisp fall morning, reminiscing and daydreaming, making lists, mailing cards to people who least suspect it, looking at old photos, David J. Matthews, the Backyardigans, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne, camping, traveling, planning ahead *and* flying by the seat of my pants, the smell of ground beef browning in a pan, fresh flowers, People magazine, new shoes, and a featherbed with a down blanket.
For the first time in my life, I have been able to relax and truly look at my life from a different viewpoint...and I really love what I see. I am looking forward to all the things my life has to offer and seeing what God has in store for all of us. Peace!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Friends old and new, Jennifer Garner, Natalie Portman, Oprah Winfrey, Conan O'Brien, and the person who decided that helping everyone out indefinitely was better than making people earn things for themselves.

Music:

I know it's cliche, but really, everything. I have a soft spot for strings, especially acoustic guitar and the cello.

My short list: DMB, The Fray, The Killers, My Chemical Romance, Shakira, Kelly Clarkson, Yellowcard, Benny Ibarra, Maroon 5, Damien Rice, Portishead, Neil Young, and Jewel. Plus, let's be real; I have two very young boys, which means I have to be an equal opportunity music provider.

Movies:

Suspense, thrillers, romantic comedies...anything smart and well written. Really, the list is too long to contemplate.
