After introducing trance to Israel back in 1992 by throwing free beach parties, Dj Dede took Tel Aviv by storm in 1997 and formed one of Israel's first all trance distributing label, the legendary MDMA. While he was in MDMA he was the only Israeli trance DJ to make it on the "holy mother of al discs", Deck Wizard. MDMA was an icon symbol for the Israeli trance scene and is 'till today is remembered with reverence. Dede moved on since the rise and fall of MDMA by starting his own label "Spectrum" in 2001. Dede took this turn to follow his belief that there are incredible talents to be discovered and represent.
The Concept behind Spectrum is Dede's personal vision of the future of trance and all its electronic siblings. Being in the scene in Israel and abroad for so long has given Dede the chance to be trances experienced gardener by nipping problems from the bud and growing new and upcoming artists. Since the birth of Spectrum, Dede has distributed Spectrum's first releases with MDMA, BNE and 3d-vision.
Dede's faith in all electronic music takes him back to the early days of electro-music where genres werent as defined as today. To his recollect, in the early days, he would have 10 hour mixing sets of under world tracks with German techno and Belgian house and euro trance with the early "Goa" trance.
Dede's style molded after experimenting in all trance grooves and moves but the once he would visit the Voov festival 1998 would change his set forever. Dede realized that slower trance grooves could move the crowds just as well and appealed to the masses of other trance fans that didnt take any enhancements to "get" the music. This really spoke to his heart and since he has been spreading the freshness.
Spectrum's concept is to strip the complex layers of sound which sometimes could be too over powering at times and grabbing into the roots of trance and creating a groove that could digestible and not ear threatening. Dede believes with this achievement he will be able to move all trance fans and to gather more listeners crossing from other genres. Though, he still can't say if Spectrum will stay "Full on" or "Progressive".
Dede's music finding adventure is still not up and he will keep exploring to find innovating ideas from across the globe.
