Devil Said Play

About Me

Devil Said Play is a Montreal band that formed in the summer of 2002. Its five members have come together and made it their mission to bring the holy and sacred sound of traditional Hard Rock back onto the main stage of the Montreal music scene. Their influences stem from such legendary bands as Guns 'n Roses, Metallica, Van Halen, Stone Temple Pilots, to awe-inspiring bands like The Tea Party, Velvet Revolver and Black Label Society. A music scene saturated with bubble-gum pop rock bands has, in the bands opinion, poisoned the scene and has unfortunately pushed much of the rock public into hiding.
In the November 2004 issue of Guitar World, Jon Donais (Shadows Fall) was quoted saying: "You used to hear the greatest bands on the radio: AC/DC, Guns 'n Roses, Van Halen. What happened? Everything now is so dumbed down. The formula is always the same; no one tries to do anything different."
People no longer go out in search for live bands and that has to change...
In essence, Devil Said Play is trying to create an intense, energy-packed atmosphere, where people can listen to music with substance and have a good time doing it.
Its time to pull up to the bar, grab a brew, stick your fist in the air and have the time of your life!!!
