MURANGUS

MURANGUS started out as most of typical teenage bands: in the middle of the summer of 1995, some guys decided to extend their friendship to form a rock 'n’ roll band. And, like most of youngster’s projects, MURANGUS spent the first two years changing the line-up members. From 1997, already with a stabilized formation, the band starts to play more often and participates in some compilations of new bands. This activity decreases in 2001, when the members join in to record their debut album “A Windy Day”. The album is released in the end of that same year and allows the band a growing public recognition due to the participation in TV programs and to some important live gigs. After promoting its debut cd, during the year of 2005 the band works in the home recording of four of the most consensual new songs written since the previous release. The recording sessions take place at the band’s rehearsal spot and the work is successfully accomplished with the help of an “Ardbeg” 12 years old scotch, carefully dosed within the six month recording period, and a small amount of perseverance and patience. The four songs were later compiled as the “Latest Rags” ep.
