Dating-wise: Someone different. Someone who is capable of changing my perspective. Someone who can cure the insecurities I have while accidentally pointing out new ones that I never new I had (what good is living life if you are 100% happy with yourself?). Someone who captures my imagination. Or a sugar momma. I haven't really decided. If enlightenment isnt really possible I'd probably be ok with being filthy rich.Friend-wise: people I will remember. Seriously. This may sound mean or whatever, but friends are there to help you generate great memories. If the time spent with the friends isn't memorable, it's wasted in a certain sense. Honestly though its as simple as people who are always out to do different things, to get just a little crazier than last time, to push the limits. What's the point of doing the same thing you did last time just the same way, it will never be as good.
Music music music eh?I guess musically I think I was born a generation too late. Classic rock is really what does it for me...Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Alman Bros, the Who, etc. This is not to say that I can't get into today's stuff. I get in moods where I can listen to rap or techno/electronic for days on end. I'd like to expand my techno horizons past the mainstream stuff I have (Paul Oakenfold, Fatboy, Moby, etc.)I'm also really digging the killers, sublime, a punk band called Strung Out, Outkast, and I'm embarassed to say The Darkness' album has me captivated.
Big time into film, was a film major for a long time. My favorite films are the ones that accomplish what they set out to accomplish. That means I can love a stupid grossout comedy if all it aspires to be is a stupid grossout comedy, but not if its trying to be something more than it is...does that make any sense? I guess the point is I hate films that pretend to be really big and deep but fail to live up to that self-importance.Favorite films: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Thin Red Line, Old School, Van Wilder, Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, Ghostbusters, anything Kubrick, a lot of Orson Welles, Y Tu Mama Tambien...the list goes on and on, I am a DVD whore and have a few hundred of em.Oh, and whoever robbed me back in SB, please don't do it again. I like my DVD collection as-is.
Ok, so I've gotten into some TV since last we spoke.Family Guys is still THE show for me, but some others have started to worm their way into my heart. And damn anyone who ever recommended me one of these shows, you are directly responsible for me wasting my life away.House is now in there. While we are on sarcastic doctors, let's add in Scrubs. Also like Firefly (though it got cancelled). Sports of course. I think that's it. That's like 4 hours a week gone, never to be returned to me. I need TiVo then I could get by only wasting like 3.25 hours. Commercial free rocks.
My literary tastes are rather here and there. I love classical literature (i.e. Dickens, Homer, etc.) but also love to nerd out and read sci-fi stuff, Lord of the Rings or whatever.
People who ignore the fact that what they really want is probably impossible to get.
