About Me

It all started with a dream...to make music that doesn't suck for people who do. Who knew that three downhome boys could come together to deliver a groove so hard that you had to restock your underwear drawer?Nathan was born with a bass in his hands, a stain in his pants and a hole in his heart that could only be cured with funk music and 15 hours of open heart surgery. At the age of ten he moved to Ohio from Wyoming and became the first person ever to play electric bass with the Cleveland Orchestra. Rumor has it he thumped that shit so hard he recracked the Liberty Bell upon its restoration.Bill was somewhat of a child prodigy. The first 14 years of his life he dedicated to mastering the guitar, running his fingers up and down the fretboard until they bled. At the age of 15 he bought his first set of strings and discovered a side of the instrument he wasn't aware existed. He made a name for himself on the Southwestern club circuit playing a one man funk show. Tragedy struck our hero at a gig in New Mexico where after downing four bottles of tequila and a ham sandwich he proceeded to defecate on the stage to the point of no return. There was no encore. He was forced to move Northeast to Cleveland to start anew. He wanted to leave his funk roots behind, so he could live a quiet life as a factory worker. It was here that he heard the legend of that asshole who cracked the Liberty Bell. He was determined to find him and make funk history.Details of Jeremy's early life remain a mystery. Some say he studied with Steven Hawking for most of his childhood to truly understand the science of funk. The important thing is, his groove was so perfect, it was used to set the atomic clock. The next logical step in his journey was Kent, Ohio.It is here in Kent where these three funky mofos happened upon each other at the infamous Project Sound Jam Sessions. After extensive jamming on their own they knew that their sound could be described only as funk with a capital F; so technically Funk. They were shooting for the stars with funk as their vehicle. Funk Rocket was born.
