Treasure City Thrift

I am here for Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

Treasure City is a collectively run non-profit thrift store designed to raise money for small local grassroots community groups and projects that traditionally have difficulty finding funding either because of their size or due to the nature of their work. The goal is for at least 60% of the net surplus (profit) to go to these groups to help them become more financially stable to continue their good work in our communities.

Treasure City Thrift is part of a growing network of cooperatives, collectives, and independent businesses in Austin that are working together to create the roots for a just, democratic, and sustainable world.

We need your donations of household goods and will accept useable furniture, books, clothing, toys, dishware, tools, and other items in good condition. Drop them by the store during our store hours or contact us for pick up schedules. We are also accepting eBay consignment items. Please email or call us for information regarding eBay consignment.
We want Treasure City Thrift to be a resource for the greater community, beyond just the groups we donate money to. By selling items in our store at lower prices than other local retail and thrift shops we plan to be affordable to allBy making our space available to various communities outside of business hours we intend to broaden the scope of our mission into the realm of education in the form of community meetings, movies, speakers, workshops, and other events that meet our criteria for equality, openness, and mutual aid. These events will give the members of our local communities more opportunities to network, learn about, and benefit from experiences other than their own.

Treasure City Thrift is staffed by volunteers from the Austin community. A volunteer run collective facilitates all the activities and projects of the store.
We need volunteers. If you can commit to a shift 11am-2.30pm or 2.30pm-6pm once a week that would be great, but we would also appreciate folks who are willing to be on call, folks who could work one shift a month or bi-weekly, and folks who can do drop-in shifts.

If you would like to volunteer, let us know how and when you can help and we will add your name to our volunteer list. As a volunteer you will be supporting a worthwhile project and receive store discounts.

Call us 512 524 2820 or stop by the shop during store hours 1720 East 12th Street to let us know what's up, to buy yer new favorite knickers, to find out more about us, or for any of a couple hundred lots of reasons....

We are open monday thru saturday from 11am til 6pm and accept donations during regular business hours.
