About Me

Hanna Bordas --
[noun]:
A beat poet working the streets
'How will you be defined in the dictionary?' at QuizGalaxy.com"Love the earth and the sun and animals, Despise riches, Give alms to everyone that asks, Stand up for the stupid and the crazy, Devote your income and labors to others, Hate tyrants, Argue not concerning God, Have patience and indulgence towards the people, Take off your hat to nothing known or unknown, Or to any man or number of men, Go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and mothers of families, Re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, Dismiss whatever insults your own soul, And your very flesh shall be a great poem, And have the richest fluency, Not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face, And between the lashes of your eyes, And in every motion and joint of your body." ~ Walt Whitman, "Leaves of Grass" "A sensitive person receives fifty impressions where somebody else may only get seven."
(Marlon Brando) I teach peace, oops, writing to middle school students. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and I have six classes per day, for a total of 130 students. Yep, it's pretty hectic. It takes a lot out of me but I am learning how to rejuvenate myself to be the best and most patient guide I can for my kids...who are bright, beautiful, difficult, intelligent, funny, and tiring all at the same time. I used to work in offices and now that I'm around such wonderful young human beings every day I can't imagine doing anything else.

Get Your Own Name Acronym "As long as you got me and I got you, you know we got a lot to go around."
(Jason Mraz) "If you're really listening, if you're awake to the poignant beauty of the world, your heart breaks regularly. In fact, your heart is made to break; its purpose is to burst open again and again so that it can hold ever-more wonders."
(Andrew Harvey, The Return of the Mother)
You Are 4% Capitalist, 96% Socialist
You see a lot of injustice in the world, and you'd like to see it fixed.
As far as you're concerned, all the wrong people have the power.
You're strongly in favor of the redistribution of wealth - and more protection for the average person. Are You a Socialist or Capitalist?

13 by 3 mile problem

This is a documentary, made by Michael Santos , about family members of murder victims in a small urban city called New Bedford, MA...my hometown. It's long, but I hope that if you don't have an hour to watch it today, you will come back another day, and press play.
Which Tarot Card Are You?
You are the Fool card. The Fool fearlessly begins the journey into the unknown. To do this, he does not regard the world he knows as firm and fixed. He has a seemingly reckless disregard for obstacles. In the Ryder-Waite deck, he is seen stepping off a cliff with his gaze on the sky, and a rainbow is there to catch him. In order to explore and expand, one must disregard convention and conformity. Those in the throes of convention look at the unconventional, non-conformist personality and think What a fool. They lack the point of view to understand The Fool's actions. But The Fool has roots in tradition as one who is closest to the spirit world. In many tribal cultures, those born with strange and unusual character traits were held in awe. Shamans were people who could see visions and go on journeys that we now label hallucinations and schizophrenia. Those with physical differences had experience and knowledge that the average person could not understand. The Fool is God. The number of the card is zero, which when drawn is a perfect circle. This circle represents both emptiness and infinity. The Fool is not shackled by mountains and valleys or by his physical body. He does not accept the appearance of cliff and air as being distinct or real. Image from: Mary DeLave http://www.marydelave.com/

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

A wealthy benefactor who would like to support my efforts to become an excellent teacher for the Boston Public School system. All I need is $20,000 for living expenses...not that much when you compare it to our current administration's war budget. I wish I could scam the system and win some grant money intended for making war machines and instead use it toward my efforts to infuse inner-city adolescent kids with love and belief in themselves.
